Chairperson Treppa is dedicated to the Tribe and its success and has been instrumental in the process of restoring the Tribe’s land base, negotiating funding for the Tribe’s current gaming project, while working cooperatively with the County, local Community, State, Legislature, and the Tribe’s U.S. Congressman in an effort to secure a Gaming Compact with the State, guide it through the legislative ratification process as well as the final Department of Interior review procedure not only once but twice. She currently is working alongside another dedicated Executive Council Member in the day to day coordination of the construction of the Running Creek Gaming Project. She fully believes in preserving the tribe’s Pomo culture and its inalienable right to sovereignty while striving for economic self reliance through gaming.

Chairperson Treppa recalls her proudest moment as Chairperson was the day of the Tribe’s land blessing ceremony following the United States taking 11.24 acres of land into trust for the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake… … “NEXT to its PEOPLE, there is nothing more precious to a TRIBE than its LAND” (photo is of 2008 Land Blessing Ceremony). She believes that hard work, dedication, perseverance and an undying belief that never giving up are the keys to the Tribe’s success. Moreover, she states “it’s not enough to hold these beliefs, but as Chairperson, one must embody and exemplify them on a daily basis”.
