Sherry Treppa, Chairperson Sherry started her work for the Tribe by volunteering for the Enrollment Committee in 2001. As Enrollment Committee Chairperson along with the other dedicated Committee members she shepherded the Tribe through its initial enrollment of its current membership. She also has served as a Member of the Housing Committee, CILS (California Indian legal Services)Board of Directors and Tribe’s NIGA (National Indian Gaming Association)and NCAI (National Congress of American Indians)delegation. Sherry was elected Vice Chairperson of the Executive Council in June of 2004, re-elected in 2006 and elected as Chairperson in 2008, a position she currently holds. Chairperson Treppa is dedicated to the Tribe and its success and has been instrumental in the process of restoring the Tribe’s land base, negotiating funding for the Tribe’s current gaming project, while working cooperatively with the County, local Community, State, Legislature, and the Tribe’s U.S. Congressman in an effort to secure a Gaming Compact with the State, guide it through the legislative ratification process as well as the final Department of Interior review procedure not only once but twice. She currently is working alongside another dedicated Executive Council Member in the day to day coordination of the construction of the Running Creek Gaming Project. She fully believes in preserving the tribe’s Pomo culture and its inalienable right to sovereignty while striving for economic self reliance through gaming. Chairperson Treppa recalls her proudest moment as Chairperson was the day of the Tribe’s land blessing ceremony following the United States taking 11.24 acres of land into trust for the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake… … “NEXT to its PEOPLE, there is nothing more precious to a TRIBE than its LAND” (photo is of 2008 Land Blessing Ceremony). She believes that hard work, dedication, perseverance and an undying belief that never giving up are the keys to the Tribe’s success. Moreover, she states “it’s not enough to hold these beliefs, but as Chairperson, one must embody and exemplify them on a daily basis”. |

Angelina Arroyo – Vice Chair In 2004, Angelina was elected as the Executive Council Secretary and served a term and a half prior to running for the position and beling elected as the Vice Chairperson. During that period of six years she tirelessly worked toward the management and recording of tribal minutes, documents and task accomplishments. As the Vice Chairperson, Angelina represents the Tribe as the alternate for National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) as well as the alternate to the Chairperson for the National Indian Gaming Assoc. (NIGA). Angelina also serves as the EC’s direct liason to the Tribal Gaming Commission (TGC) and reports the most pressing issues faced by the Tribe in regrds to compliance, rules and regulations. Since 2009, Angelina has been contracted by the Tribe as a Project Management Team (PMT) member and diligently works toward making the Tribe’s dream of economic self sufficiency a reality through the succes of a Tribal Enterprise – casino. Angelina obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications at Humboldt State University and has over ten years experience working as a Youth Counselor as well as a youth advocate serving the purpose of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). She is a mother of four children and raising them to understand the value of their education, culture and the incredible strength of their spiritual beliefs. A long term goal for Angelina is to see all Tribal Youth have an opportunity to live in a safe, nurturing and healthy environment and believe in themselves enough to achieve a higher education. |

Kimberly Marcks – Treasurer Kimberly Roni Marcks, Executive Council Treasurer, elected June 12, 2010. After graduating high school Kimberly left Lake County for numerous years, only to return to Upper Lake, CA after becoming a mother of 2 healthy sons. Kimberly had chosen to raise her family back in Lake County where she initially grew up so her children could experience their own traditional native values and culture. As of July 28, 2001 Kimberly became an official enrolled adult Tribal Member of Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake. In 2002, Kimberly first started working for the Tribe as a Receptionist then later led to a contractual position as an Archival Coordinator. During Kimberly’s early adulthood she has been employed in various positions for other local Lake County Tribes (gaming and non-gaming); positions such as Environmental Protection, Human Resources, Payroll, Accounting, Marketing and Hotel Services. In addition, readily volunteered for her Tribe and the Lake County community; on Enrollment, Parent Advisory, ITCC (Inter-Tribal Council of CA), LCOE (Lake Co. Office of Education) North shore SARB (School Attendance Review Board). With this form of experience, knowledge and capability, has only prepared her for her elected position of Executive Council Treasurer. Kimberly was elected June 12, 2010 by the Tribe’s General Membership to a 4-year term, which expires June, 2014. That being said Kimberly’s goal was to continue to further her education by obtaining her Associate of Arts Degree from Mendocino College in General Studies which she accomplished in the summer of 2010. As a proud mother of 2 very active, growing boys, who are very much involved in many different sports (baseball, soccer and football), keeps Kimberly extremely busy on her down time during the sport seasons, volunteering with the Westshore Little League, Konocti Youth Soccer League and Northshore Football League; fundraising, acting as scorekeeper and Team Mom. As of December, 2010 Kimberly got engaged to be married and plans to wed in the spring of April, 2012. Kimberly’s fiancé, Prince Cobarrubia is a Native American Pomo Indian and an enrolled adult Tribal Member of Manchester Point Arena Tribe. During this past year Kimberly has learned a lot, especially in regards to the Tribe’s Fiscal Department. Diligently working with the Tribe’s Fiscal Officer and Tribal Administrator revisiting the Tribe’s Fiscal Policies & Procedures to better help with the operations of the Fiscal Department itself. In addition, she has learned how to reconcile the tribal bank statements and is in the process of learning a running log of the Project finances. Kimberly’s current and future goal is to be able to run the Fiscal Office; knowing the ins and outs of the department completely. During the remainder of Kimberly’s term she plans to be more hands –on, knowledgeable in all aspects of the Fiscal Department along with all the Tribe’s operating policies; accomplishing this will only help her better represent the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake Tribe and its community. Lastly, she desires to exercise an “open door policy” welcoming conversation from Tribal Members at anytime. |

Martina Jackson – Executive Council – Secretary Martina was born in 1983, Santa Rosa, California. Martina is an enrolled Tribal Member of Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake. Martina is a resident of Mendocino County, California; she lives in the city of Ukiah. Martina is a High School graduate and was initially elected by the Tribe in October, 2010 to the Executive Council as Member-At-Large but due to an unexpected vacancy a special election was conducted where at which time Martina was elected in April, 2011 to the Executive Council as Secretary. She is currently fulfilling the remainder of its 4-year term of office, which expires in June, 2012. Martina has strong family values; she has 1 younger sibling (a sister). Martina is devoted to assisting the Tribe’s Education Center with fun, educational events and activities; motivating others to get involved, gaining an experience to remember. |

Randy Brown – Executive Council – Mem at Lrg Randall was born 1974, Lakeport, California and still remains a resident of Lake County, CA; he lives in the city of Middletown. Randall is an enrolled Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake Tribal Member. Randall is a High School graduate and was elected by the Tribe in October, 2008 to the Executive Council as Member-At-Large and is currently fulfilling his 4-year term of office, which expires in June, 2012. Randall is very family oriented, he has 2 siblings (both brothers) and is a dedicated father of 3 healthy children; 2 sons and 1 daughter. Randall has been an involved advocate of Tribal culture and Pomo traditions. For the past 3 consecutive years, Randall has participated in the local Tule Boat Festival/ Races; demonstrating to tribal youth how to utilize natural resources to construct their own tule boats to compete and race against other local Tribes; inspiring self-confidence with customary traditions. |

Dave Tomas – Executive Council – Mem at Lrg David was born and raised in Berkeley Ca. He attended schools and worked in the greater Bay Area mainly in the Food and Beverage industry for over 30 years, mainly in private clubs. This also included a sales position with Kendall-Jackson’s On Sale distributorship. David has previously served a full 4 year term on the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake Executive Council, worked in his tribes’ Environmental Department, including local CRMP and HERC groups, participated on the HPUL Finance Committee, Personnel Committee , Grievance Board, Sacred Sites legislation and along with other Council members, past and present, helped attain a legal Compact with the State of California and final approval from the Department of the Interior in August of 2011. David and his wife, who live in Moraga, just celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this past July (2011). They have 4 daughters and 3 granddaughters. David has also been active in his local community, having coached both boys and girls athletic teams in the past years and has been active in St. Monica’s Men’s Club Board of Directors. David still enjoys coaching & playing on his church softball team for the past 23 years. |

Amber Jackson – Executive Council – Mem at Lrg Amber was born in 1975, Ukiah, California. Amber is an enrolled Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake Tribal Member. Amber is a G.E.D. graduate and was elected by the Tribe in June, 2010 to the Executive Council as Member-At-Large. She is currently fulfilling her 4-year term of office, which expires in June, 2014. Amber is still a resident of Lake County, CA; she lives in the city of Clearlake. Amber’s primary interests in serving on the Executive Council is to be of service to her Tribe and its Members and help shape the future. In addition, focus on education and the need for community programs. Currently, Amber is serving as a Committee Member to the Tribe’s Parent Advisory Committee and Scholarship Fund Selection Committee. Amber is also an appointed alternate delegate of the Tribe to the Northshore Business Association and the California Fee-To-Trust Consortium with the U.S. Department of Interior, Bureau of Indians Affairs. Amber initially comes from a big family with 5 siblings (all sisters); she is a mother of 6 great children; 3 sons and 3 daughters. Amber’s 3 most important tasks to accomplish while elected for the Tribe is to help get the Running Creek Casino up and running, finding jobs and adequate housing for Tribal Members. |
